Step 3: Credit Score and Credit History

Step 4: Consumer Proposal and Bankruptcy Status

Active consumer proposals may be considered with a minimum credit score of 625 and 3 months of consistent payments. Proof required.

A sufficient discharge period is required. Unfortunately, we cannot proceed with your registration at this time.

Step 5: Residency Status

Greatway only contracts agents with Canadian citizenship, permanent residency or under open work permits with no restrictions. If your work permit has demographic, occupation restrictions, or limited validity period (less than 6 months) at the time of contracting, your application may be deferred or declined.

Step 8: Interest and Timeline

If previously licensed, the applicant must not have any unresolved regulatory complaints, investigations, or disciplinary actions with any Canadian regulatory authority.

QUESTION 1: WHAT IS THE NEW BUSINESS ASSOCIATE (NBA) PROGRAM?

The NBA Program is designed to help you become a licensed life insurance agent with structured training, mentorship, and support from day one through licensing.

Your registration includes:

QUESTION 2: WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE $129 AND $99 REGISTRATION FEE?

$129 – New Associate

>First-time registration

>Any Field Leader

>Full 1-year access

$99 – Returning Associate

>For previous NBAs continuing their licensing

>Must re-register under the same Field Leader

>Full 1-year access

>Save $30 vs. new registration

Both options are valid for one year and are non-refundable.

QUESTION 3: WHAT’S INCLUDED IN THE REGISTRATION FEE?

Both registration options include:

QUESTION 4: DOES THE FEE INCLUDE CERTIFICATION AND PROVINCIAL EXAMS?

No. Exam costs are separate.

You should budget for:

>Certification exam (SeeWhyLearning): approx. $179.99 + tax

>Provincial exam fees (varies by province)

>Annual license renewal fees (after licensing)

>Errors & Omissions (E&O) insurance (required for licensed agents)

Plan ahead so there are no surprises.

QUESTION 5: HOW LONG IS MY REGISTRATION VALID?

Your registration is valid for one year from your registration date.

If it expires, you may re-register:

$99 (same Field Leader)

$129 (new Field Leader)

We recommend completing your licensing within your first year.

QUESTION 6: CAN I PAY MONTHLY?

No. Registration is a one-time annual payment only.

QUESTION 7: WHAT PAYMENT METHODS ARE ACCEPTED?

We accept:

E-transfer is not available.

QUESTION 8: WHAT IS THE REFUND POLICY?

Registration fees ($129 and $99) are non-refundable.

Access to resources begins immediately after payment, so refunds cannot be issued.

QUESTION 9: WHY ARE THERE SCREENING QUESTIONS?

Screening protects both you and the company by identifying potential contracting issues before you invest time and money.

To proceed to contracting, you must have:

>Credit score of 625+

>No undischarged bankruptcy

>No unpaid commission chargeback debt

>No unresolved regulatory issues

>Valid residency status

QUESTION 10: CAN I REGISTER WITH A STUDENT PERMIT OR CLOSED WORK PERMIT?

You may register to learn. However, contracting eligibility depends on residency status.

Eligible for contracting:

>Canadian Citizen

>Permanent Resident

>Open Work Permit (6+ months valid, no restrictions)

Not eligible for contracting:

>Student Permit

>Closed Work Permit

>Refugee Claimant / Protected Person

>Restricted Work Permit

>Open Work Permit expiring within 6 months

Greatway does not sponsor work permits.

QUESTION 13: WHAT IF THE PERSON WHO INVITED ME IS NOT LICENSED — HOW CAN I GET THE VGBID NUMBER?

If the person who invited you is not licensed, their licensed Field Leader or direct SVP can provide the VGBID number. They can find it by logging into their My Greatway Office (MGO) account and navigating to the My Agency Hierarchy section. Please refer to the image here for guidance.
